all the lies.

It's s been two years since I moved to Australia for my degree program. Also, two years of my long-distance relationship with Bayu.

We're good, and still, keep in touch. We usually do face time. Like now, I'm enjoying my breakfast with Bayu on my computer screen.

“Lya, I need to talk to you about this now. seriously, before you heard this, I'm sorry.” Suddenly Bayu said,

“Okay, what is that?” Asked me with all I'm my curiosity.

Bayu bowed his head, like not daring to look at me.

“We need to break up, Lya.” He said.

I don't think he will say that. I'm freezing, my brain is still processing what Bayu said earlier.

I lost my ability to control my emotion. Angry, sad, confused, disappointed become one.

I took a deep breath in response to what Bayu said about our relationship.

“Why?”

“Why suddenly?”

“Why now?”

Bayu is silent, can't answer my questions.

“Why, Christopher Chandra Bayuaji?”

“Please answer me, I have no clue about this,” I said, begging him.

I know, a long-distance relationship is hard. But, he said we can deal with distance and time difference. He said he will wait for me to coming home. He said he loves me and nothing can separate us.

He lied.

“I'm sorry, Lya. But, I will marry someone else.”

I was muted by his words, again.

I can't hold back my tears to run down my face. My world is collapsing.

Then my phone is ringing, show the contact named Calvin.

“Wait, Calvin, calling me.”

how shocked I was when I picked up the call from Calvin, and he said that he and his girlfriend broke up because she will marry another man.

“Bayu...so, it's her?”

Bayu nodded and said, “sorry.”

“And now, for what?”

“For breaking my heart? Or for marrying my best friend?”

“Everything, Lya. Everything.”

no sound comes out of our mouths, busy with our thoughts.

“Lya...” He called me.

“Do you know, Bay?”

“Of all of the lies I heard. I love you was my favourite.”

“Thanks for everything. Bless your wedding. And I hope, we never meet again.”
